I had a radio show that I produced and hosted for a couple of years called Royal Snippets. It was a short radio show (less that 30 minutes) that focused on empowerment, inspiration and promoting the works of others. Life got in the way and I stopped producing and hosting the show, but I certainly enjoy opportunities to co-host with others that may have their own shows now.
I was asked to co-host theWVON 1690morning show with Matt McGill, which aired from 6am-9amCST. I filled the 7am-9am slot with Matt and had a blast. We spoke on the Beyonce, Jay-Z and Solange issue, in addition to myOpEdpiece on #BringBackOurGirls!
Let me know if you would like to discuss the article I wrote and why I enlisted the help of my little model. @dawgelene on twitter.
I took some family time this week and went to the screening ofGodzillawith my teenage niece Rachel. I had not spent time with her in a while and she is just growing up so fast. We ate, laughed, joked and she even spit some of the "dopest" (not sure if that's a word for me but) poetry I have ever heard. I knew she was always beautiful, but I had no idea she was that talented. Anyway, we took some "us" time to watch one of my favorite childhood movies...Godzilla!
It was a few parts that startled me but overall, the movie was well worth the time spent with my niece. She even enjoyed the movie and we discussed various scenes. So, for those die-hardGodzillafans, go see the movie and take a teen with you. If nothing else, its a great conversation starter and you might just enjoy the awesome 3D effects in the movie.
