Why You Should Be Authentic…NOW!

As I approach the 2-year anniversary of hubby's death, I live in authenticity more so now than ever before. Here is what I know...Missing the man's headship is REAL; missing the praying over and for me is REAL; missing that stern voice when I am "out of control and too busy to catch up with myself" is REAL; missing the daily guidance and direction for our marriage/relationship and ensuring that it (and me) aligned with the word of God is REAL; missing the willingness and very joy of submission is REAL.

I also know that....the determination to press forward is REAL; the drive to keep living is REAL; the commitment to knowing that marriage can last until death parts you is REAL; the desire to live, love and laugh authentically in a relationship again is REAL...most of all, the desire to be authentic and serve others is REAL!

"Lord help each person reading this post understand what it truly means to be AUTHENTIC and REAL. Bless their hearts, minds, businesses, relationships, words, thoughts and actions, so that they may walk in true AUTHENTICITY in love, and in life"- Amen #Authentic #REAL #BeBlessed

Why Avery Sunshine Understands Her Purpose!

I sat down with the beautiful and very talented Avery Sunshine, for an intimate discussion on life, love and her purpose.  She helped me to understand her “calling” to serve others and why she is truly grateful.

Dawgelene:

How does it make you feel to know that you have a positive impact on so many lives?

Avery:

(Chuckles) “Wow. The first feeling is unworthy and then gratefulness. I'm worthy and I know that God put me here for a reason. I finally get it even though it has taken me a long time to realize just how worthy I am. My aunt told my mom when I was a girl that I was going to be a preacher and she used to call me “preacher girl”. I ran from that label for a long time; but I am no longer running from my calling that God has on my life. I am a different type of  “preacher” and I AM worthy of the calling God has on my life to touch so many other lives in a positive way.

Dawgelene:

What are some things you are grateful for?

Avery:

I am really grateful for the reminders in my life to confirm, affirm and validate what I'm suppose to be doing and my purpose. I get those from my partner Dana, my children and others that tell me to keep doing what I'm doing and making a difference in the lives of others. It’s a shame that we often believe the negative before the positive; the lie before the truth; but I'm reminded daily that I'm one of God’s angels called for a purpose. I use my calling to remind others to keep pressing forward no matter what you are going through. It doesn’t matter what your situation is, God can and will use you if you allow him to because you are here for a reason, and you do have purpose.

Dawgelene:

What are your final thoughts on purpose?

Avery:

I have been talking to my partner about writing a song. I told him that it isn’t always about what a person says to you when you are around, but I swear its about what people are saying about you when you are not around. In thinking about that purpose, I have to ask, what type of life are you living and what are people saying about it/you when you are NOT around them?
